Adam: I read this marriage book where the author said he could tell in ten minutes of meeting a couple if they were going to make it. Laura: That's interesting. What was it based on? Adam: Micro-facial expressions in the couple's conversations with each other. The facial expressions would give a non-verbal sense of how the other person really felt about their spouse. Laura; That's pretty cool. I bet I could pinpoint all your expressions. Adam: Let's try. Laura: I want coffee. I want coffee now. I want more coffee in a larger cup. Hmm. I think it's "I want coffee and there's a hornet in my pants." Adam; You're good. Laura: We're good.

My wife is like Laura. She can read my body language from across the room.

Remember that Wilma Flintstone almost ruined her marriage by answering a quiz about fat Fred’s faults. If you’re relatively happy in your marriage, psychoanalizing it is for the birds.

Dr. Paul Ekman is one of the pioneers in micro-expressions of the face. Truly interesting stuff (looks away)
