The clothes industry is to blame for that. Them and the media focused on teens. To me, a girl with meat on her bones is MUCH more attractive than “a pencil neck geek” (Thank you Freddie Blassie)
Yep, even when parents are supportive, society is busy telling girl they’re too fat/thin/ugly/pretty/bossy/timid, etc. Even limiting media access can only do so much.
