Waiting for hot cocoa to cool down? Doesn’t that kinda sorta defeat the purpose of the whole exercise???????

From a half can of whipped cream down to a quarter of that wait any longer and you won’t have any.

I only use whipped cream for Irish coffee. I’d love some of that right now!

It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the drumming of the fingers…

A watched pot never boils and a watched mug never cools.

such a small thing to comment about, but here goes.

when you put that mound of whipped cream atop the mug of hot chocolate, you are essentially putting a lid over a pot,

slowing the cooling process down considerably

Ralph, get a better insulated mug. Then when you do the touch-test it will feel cool, and you’ll go ahead and down the hot chocolate.

Just disregard the sudden loss of tongue and esophagus tissue due to 3rd degree burns…

Ralph…use ice cream instead. Just leave some room to add more cocoa if it gets too cool. Better yet, add coffee.

I could be wrong but there is a chance the whipped cream (if it is covering the top of the cup) could be acting as an insulator to delay the cooling of the hot chocolate…

I feel the same way as Ralph! I like hot chocolate warm. Pretty much any “hot” drink, like tea, only mildly warm!
