Usually the knock off brands are from foreign countries and are popular over there and the companies ship stock over to North America for low price locations like dollar stores just in time to grab the cheap/poor people’s money before Hallowe’en. There’s more demand at that time and people will buy anything cheap because they are giving it away, not eating it themselves.
i started turning gray in my 40s. there are places online where you can buy the old candy. there is even a place in the Frankenmuth Mi called the Bavarian Inn and they have a shop downstairs that carries a lot of the old brands there.

When I was a small boy her age, 30 seemed an unreachable age. How I laugh at that now. I can scarcely remember who I was at 30!
