my parents used to leave me down at our summer home at the beach for the week, used outhouse for many years, and go back to the city to work, about an hour away and closest phone a pay phone at the general store 1 mile away, alone, when i was like 11, they’d come down for weekends…now my best buddy Keith, we still chat, lived next door and we lived in his tent all summer, and his mom was there, so there were adults in the area..
