Whenever I misplace something, I say (out loud, that’s important): “Database Manager [I like to personify things], where did I put my [whatever].” I also mention any relevant information ("I had it last week when I did [whatever].) Then I don’t think about it for a while. This is a technique I learned from a seminar given by a psychologist about programming and re-programming one’s brain. The good thing is, it really works—in 99% of the cases, the answer will just pop into my mind within a few hours.

I do reuse all my plastic store bags, they’re great for dog-doo pickup.
