I knew a dog which could hide three tennis balls. While helping his human companion(s) look for them to continue playing fetch he was actually hiding them in his mouth while playing hide and seek. Suddenly the game became obvious when he did not bark at passing cats and squirrels. His mouth did not seem as big, but he managed with no outward signs.

The rule book doesn’t allow physically picking up the puck and carrying to the goal? or off the ice?

Only if it’s a Newfie that does it.

Growing up, my pointer would steal tennis balls from the court. Would lay off to the side and wait for a net ball, grab it and haul…..

He should get a holding penalty for holding the puck in his mouth.
