For some reason it makes me think of my Nephews. I saw my sister pregnant and wondered if she was going to pop, like a balloon.

Elly and the Johnstons tend to use different language to indicate what is in control of different things. Nature is almost always in control of child birth as you see with today’s comic strip and sometimes is in charge of illness and disease. However, when baby Leah was born with the extra finger, that was because the angels made a mistake in the baby assembly line. God and Jesus tend to show up around religious holidays (Christmas and Easter). Fate is in charge of job and/or romantic opportunities.

I always thought 9 months incredibly short, given the complexity of the thing being baked.
