But Charlie Brown is the only one in the group who really -loves- the game. Everyone else plays, but CB really loves it. If he was sitting on the bench, the team would collapse before the season was out.

The team seems to win in the rare times Charlie Brown doesn’t play. You think he would have eventually caught on over the years.

Maybe if Charlie Brown were to play catcher instead?

He DID win one eventually, to the immense shock of Sally his sister… only to wonder what it really got him in the end, if memory serves.

Poor, Charlie Brown. But wow Linus, you’re really good. How come you’re never pitcher.

A catcher throws as often as the pitcher. Moving Chuck behind the plate would not help his arm. ;)
Amazingly… Linus is at least 3 years younger than Charlie Brown.

I believe that is Violet talking in this strip. Lucy isn’t shown here.

And how many games did his hero Joe Shlobotnik’s teams win?
Violet should have been shrinking in this instance.
Charles Weir about 14 years ago
Since Charlie Brown is the team manager, that’s what he should do. Just delegate.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Din’t Joe Shlobotnik sit on the bench most of the time and have a batting average around the Mendoza line?
