I’ve done some work with Indium which can be melted with a cigarette lighter. It comes in handy when you have solder joints which are close to one another. You’d do the hard solder joint first because it takes the most heat. Then you’d do the soft solder joint because you can heat the workpiece enough to melt the soft solder without loosening the hard solder joint. And finally the indium joint because it melts at an even lower temperature than the soft solder, thus it will take only enough heat to melt it and not the soft solder.
The most amazing thing is it’s apparently always -4°F at Takhini Hot Springs when they hold the International Hair Freezing contest. Must be the most stable temperature location on Earth WOW!

Gallium is a cool metal. It is what they make those melting spoons out of. You stir your coffee and looks like the coffee reacted with the spoon.

The water itself does not turn into gold. When the water vaporizes it causes dissolved gold in the water to be deposited.

I always tell my students not to believe everything they read online. Mr. G, you need to be more careful.
