“Green cheese” is an old name for a wheel of newly made, white, unripened cheese….
people in medieval times thought the moon resembled one.
Of course, if the cheese had those grey blotches that today’s telescopes show on the moon’s surface, maybe it wasn’t so very fresh.

It was a brilliant moon last night. The snow was bright white on the dark tree branches in the moonlight, and cast dark moonshadows on the ground.
Perfect timing is right. I saw the moon this morning for the first time in many, many days. It’s called a Snow Moon – very big and bright.
Haven’t seen the sun or moon except for a few peeks in a couple of weeks.
