I use to remember the mysterious mail shoot. A cool idea.

I really liked having a mail slot when i lived in an apartment. There was no need to leave a HOLD MAIL request whenever I was going to be out of town. However, when returning home after a long Christmas holiday, I had a difficult time trying to open the door because of the mountain of Christmas cards, bills, junk mail, ads, magazines, and newspapers.

Mail slots can be a convenience for the customer, but they can also be a hazard for a mail person in trying to get the mail through the slots. Injuries to fingers have been reported due to dogs or cats on the other side.

Then why did he get up?

We had a mail slot like that. One time the dog was sleeping under it when the mail came. I don’t know who was more surprised. But they sent us a letter telling us we had to put up a mailbox!

We recycle most of that crap… and in Election Years it gets really horrible! :(
