Poor Wolfe. On one side he clearly wants out of the mess, and yet on the other, I think he also wants to see how this plays out. That and try and help Sid, because he’s a good soul like that, but still.
I’m somewhat surprised that, seeing Sid apparently hasn’t written since, most likely, before he was expelled (I guess he never did figure out how to finish that letter he was trying to write way back at the beginning), his parents seem so quick to assume that everything is still so fine and dandy and there are no problems at all.
I mean, if I did that with my folks, they’d at least wonder if something was up and gently inquire about it. Contrary to the saying, no news isn’t necessarily good news…especially if any news at all suddenly cuts off without warning for a long stretch of time.
But then Sid’s folks strike me as very loving parents…but maybe also not the brightest. You know how it is. :P
Harry have to face a monster, Ben and Eliza have to play bounty hunters to prevent some Americans from gettin their hands on O’Malley; and yet it feels like Sid and Wolfe have drawn the short stick.
Got a feeling that the only thing that’s going to even remotely get Sid out of this mess is for Harry to get back and impress the hell out of mumsy? ;^)
Well, here’s a light bit of cringe comedy in contrast to the more serious plots in this arc. It’s amazing, you can actually see Sid sinking deeper with each panel.
