Not sure I like the subtext. Sure cigarettes are bad for you. But Americans were supposed to read this, and think “Wow, we should be patronizing and legislate whether Asia smokes American-made or not, because those dumb foreigners can’t make the right decision for themselves…”
The strip, concerning advertising and expanding markets, highlights the steady profitability of the tobacco companies. I’ve made more money from my Philip Morris stock over the decades than any other stock I’ve owned.
