My friend’s daughter and son-in-law adopted a 13-year-old boy of a different race from a difficult fostering situation. He’s their only child. He’s smart, and a good kid (around us and the grandparents, at least) but apparently a terror at home. Of course any 13 year old certainly has that potential. My hat is off to anyone who adopts older kids.

The big problem is that with 7 kids, what happens if you find out you can’t take care of all of them?
