Shermy, in his rain-gear, runs to Charlie Brown who is standing in the rain next to the tree, holding onto the string of his stuck kite. Shermy exclaims, "Charlie Brown! It's RAINING! I only hope, after 56 plus years, less of my memory of these strips are missing! I applaud whoever was able to recover as many strips as have been saved! Kudos to GoComics for allowing me to relive and laugh once again over these comics, and to once again appreciate the comic genius of Charles Schulz!

Looks more like he’s blaming the kite rather than the tree though.

Schulz said years later, that this storyline was when the strip’s brand of humor began to take form.
