Zorba the Greek was adapted into a 1964 feature film, and I suppose this is an allusion to the famous dance sequence in the movie. It would also later be adapted into a Broadway musical that would premiere in November of 1968, ten months after this strip was first published. I wonder if the promoters of the musical had a hand in this.
