Lucy and Linus sit at the table. Lucy says, "Ready?" Linus writes and says, "Ready!"<BR><BR> Lucy says, "Dear Santa Claus, How have you been?" Linus scribbles.<BR><BR> Lucy continues, "I have been good all year, and am looking forward to Christmas."<BR><BR> Lucy says, "Would you please bring me a blue sweater and a jump rope?" Linus continues to scribble.<BR><BR> Lucy smiles and says, "Thanking you in advance, I remain, yours sincerely, Lucille Van Pelt." Linus scribbles.<BR><BR> Lucy turns to Linus and says, "All right, type that up with three copies, please, and make sure it goes out today . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy says, "It's nice having a male secretary." Linus walks away.<BR><BR>

I have a feeling she would have been PO’d, had she seen her letter to Santa in shorthand—knowing Lucy, she would have had her doubts about Santa understanding shorthand. Also, Lucy, correction—Linus will see that your letter to Santa goes out TOMORROW, being that this was a Sunday, of course.

Anybody know shorthand? Are those real shorthand markings and do they say what they are supposed to? Schulz was always meticulous about using real sheet music to denote what Schroeder was playing. So it wouldn’t surprise me if he went to the trouble to get this right as well.
