    I’ve had similar memory tricks with movies. The 1975 comedy “Smile”, which was a very funny satire on teenage beauty contests, starred Bruce Dern, but after having not seen it for some 30 years, I thought his role was played by Elliott Gould. And in the original “Carrie”, I somehow got the idea that the gym teacher was played by Adrienne Barbeau, only to find years later that she was played by Betty Buckley.
