It’s not mean, it’s realistic. She knows her husband and accepts that he’s bad at gifts. Mine got me a Ton-Ton sleeping bag for Christmas. i love Star Wars but really I’m 42 and we don’t go camping. He’s bad at gifts I except this. I think many of you are hard on Opal. He quips at her just as much as she does him. it doesn’t seem mean on either side. Mine and I give each other kudos when we get a good one.
