Adam: Nothing like a nice bowl of soup on a rainy day. Katy: That's a weird color for soup. Adam: It's coffee soup. Katy: What the? Adam: Yes. You can finally get the great taste of coffee in nourishing soup form. Katy: How in tarnation do you make coffee soup? Adam: Well, basically. You take regular coffee and you put it in a bowl. Katy: And? Adam: And...then you simply grab a spoon and you eat it. Katy: Just putting something in a different dish doesn't change what it really is. Adam: Yes it does. Where're you going? Katy: To get a refreshing glass of chocolate chip cookies.

Actually there IS such a thing as coffee soup. It’s primarily eaten by Amish, though it’s not very common anymore. You put a slice of bread (preferably day old bread) in the bottom of the bowl, sprinkle sugar and pour some cream, than add coffee. Before you say ewww, think about dunking a donut or bread in coffee. It’s not bad.

I dunno if Doc Toon is rolling his eyes at Adam or jumping for joy.
At any rate, I do love my coffee, but not in a bowl as ‘soup’.
Save some for me Katie!

The Amish coffee soup might sound better with a refreshing chocolate chip cookie in the bottom…

It’s not coffee soup without peanut butter toast to dip in it. That’s how my great Italian aunt did it.

“How in tarnation do you make coffee soup?” Sounds like someone is spending time listening to Grandpa.

Uh, isn’t that how they serve big espressos in France, in a large cup (that looks like a bowl)?
