Can’t help but remember the skit by George Carlin as The Hippy Dippy Weather man. He’s reading the report,”Radar has picked up a flight of incoming Russian ICBMs that are due to arrive her in about 30 minutes,so I wouldn’t sweat the weather report! How about those Yankees?”
@pamlicorat
I had that same thought about the canary in the mine when I saw this strip.
(Yes, I do remember reading about that use in my history books. Almost made the canary extinct.)
My favorite part of George Carlin’s skits as the Hippy Dippy Weather Man was when he described the formation of a mudstorm (rainstorm from the east, duststorm from the west, colliding)…that was always guaranteed to crack me up for some reason.

I did move. For that very reason (LA smog). And quite happy I did. And at 5,000 feet, the first town below the watershed, so the water is clear too.
