    Canā€™t help but remember the skit by George Carlin as The Hippy Dippy Weather man. Heā€™s reading the report,ā€Radar has picked up a flight of incoming Russian ICBMs that are due to arrive her in about 30 minutes,so I wouldnā€™t sweat the weather report! How about those Yankees?ā€

    I did move. For that very reason (LA smog). And quite happy I did. And at 5,000 feet, the first town below the watershed, so the water is clear too.

    @pamlicorat I had that same thought about the canary in the mine when I saw this strip. (Yes, I do remember reading about that use in my history books. Almost made the canary extinct.)

    My favorite part of George Carlinā€™s skits as the Hippy Dippy Weather Man was when he described the formation of a mudstorm (rainstorm from the east, duststorm from the west, colliding)ā€¦that was always guaranteed to crack me up for some reason.
