Elly says “stuff?” in such a way where I have a pretty good idea what is on Michael’s jeans from the barn. My sister used to have a dog that was into coprophagia. Judging from Farley’s tongue in the last panel, he has the same problem.
Umm…looks like he didn’t do laundry and packed a suitcase full of dirty clothes. Farley will be in heaven when he opens the suitcase and dumps clothes on the floor knowing his mom couldn’t resist picking them up and tossing them in the washer.
Mike bought something for everyone, but Mom. (she got a couple of jars from her SIL) When will she realize this fact? I would be excusing myself to go into the bathroom for a good cry in private, and come back out after the storm of disappointment passed.
The preserves were made in Canada, stayed in Canada and should not be subject to confiscation . As far as the pants are concerned I have never had a customs official ever take a whiff of my pants. Do they do that in Canada in case someone were to smuggle in cow manure from the USA or from Mexico?

how were the preserves able to get through airport security as well as Michael’s odd-smelling jeans?

Dogs seem to be thrilled when we bring back unusual scents from our travels. It is way better than a slide show. Remember slides? …shudder..

I’m glad Mike seems to have forgiven his dad enough to have gotten him a book.

Dogs are very interested in “foreign” odors, whether from “stuff” from the barn or just contact with another animal when we walked outside.

Would it be a bad sign if Farley sniffs Michael’s pants, then raises his leg and lets loose on Michael?
