My wife still catches the weather on the local news. She thinks it is more accurate. I argue with her all the time and point out when they are wrong, which is constantly.
The apps are good but we have noticed many of them leave out the wind speed, and for where we live… wind is a big deal! Looks like this weather guy needs a little more wind today.
The News radio station in Chicago still has traffic reports. I guess they’re for people that haven’t heard of Google maps. “Google, take me to the John Hancock building”.
When I lived in Buffalo there was a weather guy who went on one time and said, basically, “we’re going to have periods of sun with a few clouds, a little bit of rain and possibly some snow, starting out calm but becoming gusty…”. I remember thinking, well, that’s a forecast that can’t possibly be wrong — he’s got all the bases covered. (To be fair, predicting late winter/early spring weather in Buffalo had to be a challenge – “if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute” as we used to say.)
