(Phntm) I await comments from long-time Phantom readers.

(Rex Morgan) Berna and Rex at the strip club? That should be interesting! I wonder what’s going on at the hotel (where Tony & Holly were taking Dex).

(Mark Trail) davidf42: You predicted that Cherry was going to ask about Lonnie - “Was she pretty?” LOL! I like the scenic middle panel. :-)

(Mary Worth) Looks like they moved to a different, smaller, table?

(Apt. 3-G) “Giggle…Giggle.” Margo is probably glad Trey doesn’t know what she was thinking.

(Judge Parker) Hope springs eternal - Sophie’s face in panel 3.

(FoxTrot) “Paige, you can always iron it yourself ” - panel 2. When Brenda Starr went to Belize, the “Blue Butterfly” cafe was Mariposa Azul. So, why is Paige’s blue blouse celeste and not azul?

(Phantom) Interesting how he lives and talks the fantasy of being 500 years old.

(Rex Morgan) I resent her attitude. She’s more concerned over the legal matter than Dexter’s safety.

(Judge Parker) Not much progress in the story yet.

(Mark Trail) Awww. Not an ounce of jealousy.

I don’t recall the Ghost talking about his own mythology before! we’ve learned of it from the people in the jungle sharing the legends and from his thoughts in the Chronicle Chamber in Skull Cave.

In some of the classic strips, P was explaining the legend and the reality behind it to Diana and Byron, and a few years back, he explained it to Kit & Heloise. Other than that, Teh is right, it’s usually only in his thoughts or the words of the natives.

Florchi, a year or so ago “P Classics” on DailyInk.com went into the origin of the current P, starting with the story of how the first P was hijacked by pirates and left for dead around 400 years ago (don’t remember exactly). He’s the one who vowed to fight pirates from then on and created the P persona. His son, grandson, great-grandson, etc have carried on the tradition while allowing and encouraging the outside world to believe he is immortal. Apparently from today’s strip, our P is the 21st of that line. Included in that story line was Kit’s own story about how he was raised to approximately age 10 in the jungle, then sent to a maternal uncle’s family in the USA to get a proper education. While he was here, he attended college and excelled in sports (of course) but was called back to the jungle before he graduated because his father was dying and he was needed to be the next P. There was all sorts of “little jungle kid in the big city” stuff which made the story fun, and then the messenger arriving at P’s home, still in loin cloth and carrying a spear was another side-story.

Florchi I just checked the dailyink.com website archives, and for the “vintage” P stories, they do have the older ones (relatively speaking - they are all old) EXCEPT for Sundays. Unfortunately this was a Sunday only story. I don’t know if any other site has vintage P.
