When I was little, we had three apple trees and a pear tree in our yard. The apple trees were very large, but the pear tree was small enough to grab it and shake it. I was too small to reach most of the pears in it, so I would shake it as it rained down pears on me (some of which hit my head). I didn’t mind, I would pull my shirt out from the bottom, and put as many as I could in there, and take them in the house.
As for the apple trees, we would have rotten apple fights every year with whatever remains were left under the trees. Good times!
