The final panel joke would work a lot better if this was not Elly’s normal posture.

Excuse me for saying this but it is said that if you work two jobs, in the end one of the two jobs is badly done and taking care of a baby is a great job!

Kind of outdated office work. Who in 9/16, 2020 types on a keyboard that seems to have a sheet of paper sticking out of it? And who files office files into what looks like a dresser drawer?

Try being active duty Navy and having to take your baby to work! My husband and I were both active, stationed in San Diego; he on an aircraft carrier and I at a medical clinic. He was out to sea and I was taking care of business at home/work. One evening, I picked up our daughter (about a year old) and the sitter said “I QUIT” (she had too many kids, actually, I found out) so I had to take my baby to work the next day (luckily, I worked Immunizations, so just had to sit in a room and give people shots while baby was in her carrier). My chief came in and gave me time off to go fix the problem. They weren’t upset with me, just the situation. This was in 1985 – before cell phones, before internet, before EVERYTHING!

It’s hard to get the boss off your back when you put her there.

Should have baby up front instead of the carry on the back.Though I have never worked with a baby, I quit that job to raise my first one as daycare I could not afford and distance of driving from one small town to a bigger one.

If a dentist with his own practice can’t afford a Nanny…., they must make a lot less in Canada than they do in the states.

This cartoon started in 1979, so it’s way older than the 90s, GirlGeek. I’ve been thinking about it for some time, reading people’s comments, and thought I remembered it during the 80s. Well, I did! Yes, I’m old.

It’s “outdated” because these strips are reruns. They were released when typewriters (the “keyboard that seems to have a sheet sticking out of it”) were still in use. Perhaps you should regard this particular strip as a sort of history lesson.

This was a ridiculous experiment in the first place. And, toting the kid around on her back is really goofy. If Elly wants to work, away from home, then she needs to get April used to a bottle so Annie can take care of her, or stay home. But, this being a comic, there has to be a corny story line to make us laugh, or at least shake our heads at the goofiness of the characters.

Love the “Kilroy was here” eyeballs in the lower left hand corner.
