He actually runs several miles a day before work. It’s just never portrayed in the strip. Obviously he has very strong legs and a very impressive running pace given the degree of impact whenever he knocks over the postman when leaving for work. (But what I don’t understand is how the postman gets there at the same time he’s leaving for work. By the time our dawdling carrier gets to my area it’s almost time for me to go to bed!)
