All the more reason to speak up, Melvin - especially with so much talk in Congress about replacing Medicare by putting seniors at the dubious mercy of the health insurance companies.
TopazSkies, need to correct you (politely) when you say… “putting seniors at the dubious mercy of the health insurance companies. ” It has already happened but, not just to us seniors. We are ALL at the mercy(?) of the insurance companies AND the govmint.
@comicnut, seniors currently have a little insulation from the insurance companies due to Medicare, though granted it has its limits. But the idea advanced by some that letting the government make health care decisions about what gets paid for is somehow worse than letting the insurance companies make those decisions strikes me as absurd, especially when the goal of insurance companies is to profit from those decisions.
@agent.007, I wasn’t defending Obama but I don’t recall hearing that he wants to privatize Medicare.

Susan. shh. There are bunches of “true patriots” who will yell at you incessantly and call you a socialist for speaking the truth in that way.
