We had a fly loose in the house this past weekend. Jazmyne (Meaner, for short) caught it a couple of times, much to the disgust of my wife’s Feist, who also loves to hunt flies. Meaner would play with it for a minute, let it go, and start all over again. (I think she would give it instructions between bouts.)

If they’re such geniuses, can’t they calculate the flying pattern of a fly?

The physical state is still determinate at the macro scale. Quantum indeterminacy deals with really tiny things on the fly.

The greater the mind the greater the need for play. I think that was a Star Trek episode, long ago.

If it is flying, whatever it is, it will capture the full attention of any cat I know
