I remember seeing that in tall office buildings. An elevator would skip the first 20 or so floors.

Motion denied …..the elevator was filled to capacity when it suddenly stopped….dropped and rolled….

If you’re lucky, you get the high speed elevator. It’s so fast that conversation is impossible; you never get to finish your sentence.

I guess the elevator depends on the sentence.

Please, don’t get me started on courthouse elevators.

Whichever one you’re assigned to, you get the shaft.

I’d avoid the the one the says ‘Life’.

Really tall buildings may require switching elevators to get all the way to the top. The weight of the cable becomes too much for a single ground-to-roof elevator. Of course, you would not see all the elevators on the ground floor. That would be too much of a “stretch”. (There, I got in the joke.)

At least having a choice, can give you a lift.
