Is this football or Moe training? Is there a difference?

I wasn’t interested in sports in grade school, and the parochial schools didn’t really have physical education. Then we moved to a rural area, and they forced us to play football in December, as if being outside during lunch wasn’t enough. I had no idea how to play football, and the coach didn’t bother to teach me. Thus, I continued to avoid sports. Fortunately, I was there only two months before we moved again, and I was back in parochial school without any physical education. In fact, we stayed inside during lunch in winter.

I know Hobbes is really a stuffed toy (sorry reality here) and Calvin has a great imagination, but how does Hobbes beat him up? Calvin does show bruises etc. Does he somehow run into doors or walls or something?

Bill Watterson sure understands the physics behind collision and momentum transfer along with force generated due to acceleration. The flying shoes and ball are truly dramatic.
