I get pathways, but is shovelling snow out of a yard a thing that people do or did?

My place is too low to get snow in all but the coldest winter, and then never enough to bother anyone.

He is doing all he can do until Fritzie comes back from the store with snow collection bags. Weekly Snow collection won’t pick up yard snow in the wrong bags.
