The cop should be holding a very small firefly instead of a flashlight.

Must be a short in my tail light, officer, I just replaced it….

“You see, officer, I accidentally backed into a running fan blade. "

“You mean-?”

“Yes. I was de-lighted, no end.”

Better check him, Officer. He might be buzzed.

What’s really funny is that fireflies/lightning bugs can fly and don’t need cars and motorcycles. ;)

With only one blinking light of only one color, fireflys are notoriously dangerous to drive behnd. Stopping, turning, hitting the brake? No one can tell.

Yep, I recall actually having to replace a broken flasher under the dash. As I grew older, I replaced them with the noisiest one I could buy, which ended my wife (RIP) having to say, “Tom, the turn signal is on.”

Guess it’s time to get one of them LED ones.
