    Won’t be new for long

Ours was new when we moved in, with 5 cats and a St Bernard

Down to just 4 cats now, but they still aren’t doing the carpet any favors

Three days in, that is how I knew our most recent rescue was going to love his forever home

A carpet isn’t really comfortable until there is enough pet hair rubbed into it to make dropped doughnut recovery impossible.

New carpets have that certain massaging/scratching/stroking quality to them that old ones just don’t. If you don’t believe me, just try it yourself.

When my folks changed some of their carpets a few years ago, all of the family cats did precisely this once it was installed too.

We couldn’t blame them—the new carpet did feel awfully nice. :D

I’m sure Sophie has some other plans for that carpet.
