Have her write down on paper how much it would cost to get and keep one then tell her she’ll have to pay for it out of her allowance. Maybe then she’ll give up.
I’ll bet Adam could get away with giving her the gift of riding lessons. I’m pretty sure, once she gets a saddle under her, she will soon get her fill of ponies/horses. They are dangerous at both ends and tricky in the middle.
