“The last thing . . . " I’m reminded of a line from the 1956 epic, The Ten Commandments, with a similar double meaning. Moses (Charlton Heston) is holding an old, dying slave in his arms, who laments that his prayer has gone unanswered: “I prayed that before death closed my eyes, I would look upon the face of our Deliverer.”
