Our first arificial did also. Though my MIL would have fits. She thought it was cute that PC would spend most of the day in the tree hidden except for this tail. PS-he was an orange tabby.
The Algonquin Hotel has a resident cat. Very Europeon old hotel. Love it, Favorite place to stay in NYC. Don’t remember the cat’s name or names. If female, her name is always the same. If male, ditto. And always a stray though think possibly some have come from the human society.

I remember the year my cats toppled the tree. And, of course, they waited til two am to do it.

Our cats never bothered the tree except for sniffing it.

We tried a small artificial tree in the middle of the kitchen table one year
The boys only completely toppled it a few times

I send out a Christmas card that is a drawing of my cat “decorating” the tree from inside. She’s very decorative.

It will only take them a few minutes to completely rip everything off that tree.

“Our tree has orange legs.” Ha! One of the funniest things I’ve ever read in a comic strip. Pinned it to my favorites!
