I always leave a tiny piece of whatever I’m eating for the dog. She doesn’t get much, but she thinks that she is sharing the meal with me. It makes her satisfied and stops her from staring.

“Unlike with the cats, where even when you can watch them, they still unnerve you and you never have any idea what they’re up to. Like, right now. In the basement. In the dark…”

My dogs are so spoiled. they know if they stare long enough a few pieces of something will “accidently” fall off my plate and hit the floor.

When our cats did this, we’d call it “looking at you with their stomachs in their eyes”. One male would sit at the head of the table, when it was set for special occasions.

Well, they are being quiet and you know what they are doing. Let it ride.

You’ve got them just where you want them. Don’t blow it!

In other words, just give them the sandwich already!

Dogs literally have both nothing better to do!

One of our cats is very old, we thought we were going to lose her a year ago and although she is better she really shows her age now

We spoil her more than we should, but we know it makes her happy in whatever time she has left

The other cats don’t see why they shouldn’t be spoiled too, and I have had all 4 staring me down lately

Those faces crack me up! :)

As long as you have food, you have their undivided attention.
