Way to break the fourth wall Fred. Next time your at a loss for what to say, ask…” Why did the cowboy buy a basset hound? Because he wanted to get a long-little-doggie” then while we are groaning you can make your retreat!
The title character of Duffy decided to sleep in one Sunday (27 December 1992). There were seven panels blank except for the cartoonist’s words begging him to make an appearance, and Duffy, from off-screen, saying to “get someone else … Doonesbury, Cathy, that snotty kid with the tiger.” Finally Duffy shuffled into the next-to-the-last panel, looked out at the readers, and said, “See ya tomorrow, folks.” The last panel was blank again except for a “Z” from off-screen.

Fred, you should always be prepared. Don’t we have a standing appointment every day at this time?
