All that stretching should prevent the hind leg paralysis that some dachsies get due to weakness of the back muscles that cause pinching of the nerves going through the spine, hips and into the back legs. If caught in time, a stretching regimen can reverse it. Otherwise a wheeled cart may be needed. Our Dachshund book called the procedure “elongating the dachshund”. That cracked me up until Frieda needed it later in life.
