“Galore” always reminds me of the “Bond Girl” … I was a teen then watching the movie in the theatre with my buddies. When we first heard the name we looked at each other and burst out laughing …
I did temp work for about a year, I remember one job where they brought me in to fill in for someone who was injured, they were paying me less than my usual rate for part time work but it was the first job I’d had in several days so I took it. One day in the middle of work the employee walked into the shop and told his boss that he was ready to come back to work so they dismissed me and sent me home so he could work instead (at the time I couldn’t help but notice that the guy seemed a little unsteady on his feet and I wondered if he was really well enough to return to work). I returned home and called the temp agency to let them know that they let me go from the job and I’d be available if anything else came up. I settled in and got comfortable for the rest of the day and the phone rang. It was the agency calling to say that the same place had just called to say that the returning worker hadn’t made it through the shift and they wanted to know if I could come back to replace him again (no pay for my time on the road or anything) I decided I’d had enough of that place and decided to turn the job down.
This long retired AT&T mid-manager evaluated subordinates and gave annual pay raises to most. Not unlike home values, they were based on Market salaries for similar jobs.

All the jobs that need to be done, but nobody wants to do. Often filled by temp agencies because no one stays very long.
