At least now we have some adults making policy who acknowledge reality and aren’t gaslighting the country.

Yeah, things are getting back to normal. The Democrats want to get rid of the filibuster, The Republicans don’t. And four years ago their roles on this issue were reversed. That’s pretty normal. The minority party want the filibuster and the majority party doesn’t.

And of course the Republicans are back to complaining about the deficit. But they never complain about the deficit when there is a Republican in the WH. When there is a Republican in the WH they are as happy as a pig in a wallow to add to the deficit.

Waiting for the extremists of the Republican Party to start hurting people. It will happen. Hoping they create the Patriot Party.

I think one of the nicest things yesterday was that it was announced that Hank Aaron died. He was the lead story and got the tributes he deserved and was not overshadowed by all the problems. Had he passed even a month ago, it would have been shoved to the back

Overused (and misused…) lately but, “We have met the enemy and he is us”…

Krugman replying to comments: @John Dems are more united than they used to be, partly because they’ve watched the GOP in action. But yes, right now Joe Manchin effectively gets to define the limits of Biden’s agenda.

It will take awhile to clean up the ongoing covid spreading Trump disasters.

    The gaslighting never ends . . .

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) attracted attention last week when he said in a floor speech that former President Donald Trump “bears responsibility” for the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

But since then, he has seemed to walk back his criticism.

On Thursday, he told reporters that he didn’t actually believe Trump had “provoked” the mob of his supporters.

In an interview airing Sunday on Gray Television’s “Full Court Press With Greta Van Susteren,” McCarthy insisted he wasn’t changing his tune.

“No, I have not changed in that,” he said.

He stood by his assertion that Trump does bear some responsibility for what happened. But, he added, so does every other person around the country.

“I also think everybody across this country has some responsibility,” he said.

Pardon my language, but f**k that sh!t. If he had said everybody who voted for Trump and refused to admit he lost is responsible . . . he’d be right and I’d be very surprised.

Not back to normal yet and may never be wholly back ever.
