Since August I have been shaving my head because of a minor surgical procedure on my scalp. It’s taken me a really long time to get used to seeing it in the mirror, but my darling bride says she likes the way it looks very much. I’m still in post-op care (I KNOW!), and will probably continue to shave it after full recovery.
I do not want to relate to this comic so hard! I had six medical procedures under anesthesia between September and December of last year, and almost 60 other medical visits as well. I still can’t put weight on my right foot or see out of my right eye. Showers have been weekly—twice a week if I’m having a GOOD week. I need a haircut so badly… the shape is gone and it just hangs there. At least with dry shampoo, it just hangs there with less oil.
I envy people who can go days without washing their hair! Mine is so oily that if I skip a day, the itching drives me nuts, and it just feels … ICK1
After hurricane Irma, we went 6 days with no power. Fortunately, in hot weather like that the water can’t get really cold, but it was still an uncomfortable choice.
Every day, I find myself considering just shaving it all off. I mean, why not? It won’t hold a curl, it won’t stay up in any kind of bun, its so long it tickles my face and back… I’m going to put it in a ponytail one day and just snip it off, I swear!

I admit that I delay washing my hair sometimes, too. My hair BREAKS combs, when it’s wet!

How does this strike your roommate, I wonder?

What you are cultivating there is one enormous dreadlock.

I like my hair, but I do get tired of fussing with it. Even the simplest hairdos, it seems, need fuss.

And I have no idea what day it is…..I will have to look at my pill-keeper (If I remember to take my pill).

Just put a scarf on your head. Problem solved.
