OK, I checked “yesterday’s” which was a Sunday comic. So, I’d guess the strip was in the mode of summarizing the previous week on Sunday plus a bit more which showed up again on Monday… So, is that a better practice than running two stories at once, a Sunday tale concurrent with a dailies’ tale, as Tarzan and the Phantom do?
Oh, I don’t know. I kind of like the Sunday Summation idea if it’s handled right. Different pictures and dialog make it appear like it’s part of the sequence, even if it’s not. The current team in Alley Oop cheats by just copy-pasting the last two Sunday panels to Monday. But Annie has successfully used this system for decades.
