Yeah, I think Agnes has stumbled upon the big problem with American politics today…

I mean, it’s been going on for centuries… in many countries even accompanied by bloodshed…

and we’ve had times in this country where things like labor disputes and race relations have caused loud and bitter vocal disputes, and violence too..

But this age of everyone shouting… of take-no-prisoners, my-way-or-the-highway, constant high volume non-discourse…

I’m not used to this, and I don’t want to be!

Settle down, America. Can we talk?

Meanwhile…. today’s dialogue reminded me of something I’ve been meaning to say, outside of its content…

    which is “Thank you, Tony!”

That’s for coming through on the larger font…

which I meant to thank you for back in December, but keep forgetting…. sorry.

    A pre-Christmas Christmas present… and it’s crept even bigger since then…

today’s can’t-miss-it lettering being an obvious example.

My tired eyes thank you, whether it stays this size, or you have to take it back to, say, mid-January size, especially for the more text-heavy strips.

    It’s a welcome relief that I appreciate.

[And yes, I did get a box of hyphens for Christmas. Why do you ask? :) ]

““If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.” Said an extremely evil man from the 1940’s.

hmmm at times it appears that this belief is true of at least “some people” in every generation. if you go by their actions. sadly it seems they have to pontificate their “truths” to the chagrin of the rest of us.

Well, the “We can have infinite growth” on this planet crowd are upset about recent events.

This is true, just look at what has happened with climate change, something that we cannot feel, hear or observe, yet, after hearing it so often, a majority have jumped on the bandwagon and that has forced our politicians to “DO SOMETHING” about it. What they are doing is costing some countries $Billion or even $Trillions, and Mother Nature just continues along with her own plan for the planet.

It’s as true as the other three legends about saints named Valentine.

Valentine’s day is next Sunday, and since I start my weeks on Sundays, I consider it next week.

Agnes understands how lies can be believed. If it crowds out truth it can to minds open for its siren call. Unlike truth, falsehood can be designed to cater to the listeners it is targeted for.
