Ah, how times have changed. Around here they declare a snow day the DAY BEFORE just based on the forecast of an inch. In MY day (back in St. Louis), we had to get up around 5am on the day after 3-4 inches had fallen to find out if our school was cancelled. It normally wasn’t.
Sometimes a year or two is all it takes. An informal study some forty years ago… Those in my year of education remembered Burma Shave signs. Half of those a year behind us remembered Burma Shave signs. Two years behind us asked, “What are Burma Shave signs?”

“Back in my day” sounds like he’s his own grandpa.

That is probably how a lot of kids have approached this last year.

The down side of remote learning – not getting a snow day.
The up side of remote learning – not being able to help shovel.
How’s your back Adam?

Upside, there are no cold and wet bus stops on the days when the snow isn’t enough to close school

Come on, take Gumbo out for a romp in the snow. These ARE the good ol’ days, sooner than you think.

My brother spent his entire childhood in this situation. And just wouldn’t stop with it. He 18 months older than me.
