Although I think John Forgetta is doing a great job and giving us a great (though underappreciated) strip, I think he erred in having Annie leave Dr. Fine and his partner Allen to be adopted by Lila. Lila as Annie’s “big sister” or adopted “auntie” would make for a lighter, though just as close, relation between the two. I thought Dr. Fine and Allen were excellent additions to the strip, and that they were people who would understand that Annie needs a female role model to look up to.
