Nitpicking time. Gwen’s scarf is blue not purple.

For the girls who read this comic, Rodney’s given his horse more carrots (carats) than Gwen. It shows you that she’s not a nag.

I think it’s the ‘neighs’ have it.

Safe from the glue factory for another day.

It’s also more traditional to wave a WHITE flag when surrendering.

This IS Rodney we’re talking about, after all!

legaleagle is right of course. But isn’t Rodney’s horse also the fastest so that he can quickly retreat at the first sign of danger? (No surrender necessary).

Rodney will retreat/ahh/race from the battle to save fair Gwen. He had trained his trusty steed when supper time comes. All hail Sir Rodney, the knight who has never let an opponent scratch his armor.

Very amusing and cowardly in the second panel, though (a maiden’s WHITE scarf not for good luck, but in case of surrender?).

Either Rodney is scared, or he wants to give orders from the back, like Genghis Khan.
