I believe there was no electricity at my GRANDparents’ childhood homes.

Tony asked, about 7 hours ago

    How’s your hearing?

Sensitive. You don’t have to shout.

My first five years were spent in a “little house on the prairie” in a small town, pop. 50. We had no electricity, no indoor plumbing and the water supply was the pump in the town square. Then we moved to a city, pop. 9,000 and I was amazed by all the conveniences we had been missing. TV TOO!

There has been electricity for an awfully long time on this ball of mud and rock.

60 years ago my brother asked my mother, “What was it like in Christ days?”.

Thinking back at some of the dumb questions I asked as a kid, this isn’t so bad. BTW, we did have a cabin by a lake up in Washington that didn’t have electricity until around 1960ish. We actually had an icebox and a wood stove.
